Body as Vessel
‘I Am’ 2024
Chalk Pastel, Pan Pastel and Charcoal on Illustration Paper
18×24
An introspection on resilience through grief. A gossamer casing envelops the subject, suspended in space. Enclosed by this casing is her growth through phases and shedding of old skin. This piece is a reminder that your shell is only a temporary home.

Chalk Pastel, Pan Pastel, and Conte on Illustration Board

This piece examines the suffocation of self. The subject’s hair manifests into tumorous tendrils- a carefully held, heavy foreign mass, encroaching on limited space. This work is a consideration of what happens in the midst of holding on to something that takes from you.
